As much as I love podcasting, there are some statistics I find troubling. Specifically, there's the fact that podcasting is the slowest growing "media" medium... ever.

Why is it that more than 70% of the population think that it's just not worth their time to check out podcasts?

Part of the problem is the conflation of quality and popularity. Just because something is "the biggest", it doesn't mean it's "the best".

Worse, often times "the best" isn't palatable for those who assume that they don't need (or won't like) the content.
